Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Gangtok tour

Wake up early in the morning for a sunrise view from Tiger Hill. Drive to the Tiger Hill viewpoint and then a short walk to reach the viewpoint. Upon reaching Tiger Hill, witness panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, and other snowy mountains. Besides, the stunning views of Mt. Chumal Rhi of Tibet, lovely Kurseong city, Mahananda, Teesta, Mechi, and Balasun rivers flowing are amazing. When the sunrays fall over the snowy mountains, the view is blissful. While coming back from Tiger Hill, visit Senchel Mandir and Senchel Lake. En-route visit the famous Batasia Loop. Witness the rare species of plants as there is an eco-garden inside the loop. Walk along the track and complete the loop on your own. Visit the War Memorial situated in the center of Batasia Loop. From here, exit to the Batasia market. Enjoy a light breakfast and then visit the old Ghoom Monastery. It is called Yiga Choeling Monastery. The huge Maitreya Buddha, images of Buddha deities, a collection of Buddha manuscripts, and huge bells and drums are some major attractions. After the visit, back to the hotel for a heavy breakfast. Then, sightseeing in Darjeeling continues. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and get an awesome view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Learn a few things about Mountaineering. Head towards PN Zoological Park (Thursday closed) and get a sight of some of the rarest species and other animals. From here, sightsee around Tea Garden. The day ends with a visit to the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Admire the beautiful scenery and view of snowy mountains from here. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Kalimpong for about 2 hours. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for rest. Have brunch and proceed sightseeing. Arrive at Durpin Dara Hill to witness the beautiful view of Kalimpong from the top and spectacular mountains. From here, visit Durpin Monastery (Zang Dhok Palri Monastery). It is one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in Kalimpong. The religiously important monastery visit is great to learn more about Buddhism. While returning, visit the popular mansion called Morgan House. Get some views of the snow-capped mountains from here. Also, heard some tales about haunting related to this mansion. Back to the town after sightseeing. End the day with a visit to Teesta Bazaar. Visit the bazaar and buy some souvenirs or other goods if you wish to. Stay overnight in a hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to the 7th Mile Viewpoint. Upon reaching, enjoy the wonderful scenery of Teesta Rangeet valley, tea plantations, and natural views from here. Take some snaps as memory. Encounter with some monkeys as well. Then, head towards Mangal Dham. The deity of Lord Krishna is here. Also, visit the garden with various species of flowers. After lunch, visit Kalimpong Science Centre. Enjoy the indoor exhibits such as Fun Science Galley, the Digital Gallery, and Science Park outdoor exhibits. After spending some time, get ready to travel to Gangtok.

Arrive at Gangtok after riding a vehicle for about 2.5 hours. Transfer to the hotel to take a rest and freshen up. Spend the evening exploring the nearby places or markets. Stay overnight in a hotel.

After breakfast, sightseeing at Gangtok begins. A 2.5-hour drive to the beautiful and holy Tsomgo Lake (12,210ft.) which is very close to the entry point of China-Nathu La Pass. A permit is required to get to this place. The 1 km long and avg. 50 ft. deep lake is surrounded by hills, alpine vegetation, & flowery plants. Encounter migratory ducks as well. Create some memories by taking photos and spending some time around here. From here, head towards Baba Mandir. After a visit to the wish-fulfilling temple, come back to the town of Gangtok. Have lunch and visit Ban Jhakri Falls and Energy Park. The natural waterfall is approx. 30m high. Besides the waterfall, the park is very attractive. The man-made lake, a dragon in the middle of the lake, jhakri statues, gazebos, and the statues of ancestors are the prime highlights of this park. The day tour ends with a visit to the Flower Exhibition Park in Ridge Park. The diverse flower species are the major attractions. It is also good for photography. Spend some time here inside the park. Get back to the town and visit the markets for shopping or just exploring. Stay overnight in a hotel.
